Me!

So here we are down to heads up play, the final two to win a whopping 2.1 million dollars in cold hard cash. Ladies and gentleman who missed the past hour, we are at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas and 829 players are down to this two gentleman. Here comes the ladies with the cash. What do you think, Vince?

I think Daniel Negreanu has a bigger edge than amateur Tan Eugene. Both this players played some great poker with almost equal amount of chips. Daniel has about nine hundred thousand more chips than Eugene but this could be anybody's game.

Yes indeed. Eugene looks unshaken coming in as short stack at this final table and worked his way out to the final two. The amateur from Malaysia aims to be the first ever Malaysian to win a WPT title. Before this we saw a bad beat when Eugene's Ah Kh outdrew Phil Laak's pocket Aces. The replay shows how Eugene caught a 10h to complete his flush. Down to the final two, here's some action.

We can see the players' cards because of the WPT Cam sponsored by Budweiser. Eugene picks up Qd 8h in the small blind. He makes the call. Daniel checks on the button with 7s 8s. The flop comes 8c 9s As. Both players with bottom pair. Eugene checks first to Daniel. He makes it 300,000 with his pair of 8's and a flush draw.

In heads up play, if you hit something, it's usually the winning hand. But Eugene calls the 300,000. Here comes the turn.

Oooh! the 7c gives Daniel Negreanu two pairs, but what is this? Eugene raises it up to 800,000. This is bold play with bottom pair by Eugene here and I don't see Negreanu going anywhere. I think Eugene is trying to represent a flush draw and Negreanu isn't going to let him see that cheaply.

Daniel makes it 2 million to go. Is Eugene going to make this call with bottom pair? He doesn't believe Daniel!
HE MAKES THE CALL AND WE'RE DOWN TO THE RIVER.

OHHH! The 8d at the river gives Eugene a three-of-a-kind and Daniel Negreanu a full house! This could spell trouble. I could even smell the end of this tournament.

"These are my favourite cards, I'm going all in."

Eugene moves all in with three-of-a-kind and Daniel immediately calls, and this is all over folks. Daniel takes home the 2.1 million dollars AND the WPT title. That was amazing poker right there by Daniel Negreanu. Eugene could not be the youngest ever player to win the WPT title and be the first Malaysian, but his efforts are to be acknowledged. He takes home a healthy USD$571,491. From the shortest stack at this final table to finishing second, that was some awesome play. Till then Ladies & Gentleman, here's to our new WPT Champion, Daniel Negreanu!

Fucking hell!!! Nightmare!!!
